EV Summit & Expo 2024 celebrates 10 years
EVs – The Electric Revolution or Another False Dawn?
The 2024 EV Summit & Expo takes place on 14th November at the RDS in Dublin to celebrate a decade of innovation and leadership in the electric vehicle sector. Marking the 10th Annual Electric Vehicle Summit, this event stands as Ireland’s premier industry forum, dedicated to the latest in EV innovation, technology, sustainability, and the future of mobility.
The Irish government has been actively promoting the switch to electric vehicles (EVs) for a number of years now, and the Department of Transport see EVs as having an important role to play in our Climate Action Plan 2024, helping to decarbonise the transport sector, and eliminate tailpipe emissions from the private car fleet. The target is to have 945,000 EVs on the road by 2030, of which 845,000 are expected to be private passenger cars. While the growth in EVs has accelerated exponentially in recent years, we are lagging well behind where we need to be in terms of that ambitious government target. The scale of the challenge is ambitious and one might wonder if there really is an EV revolution or is this another false dawn? The lack of charging infrastructure, an uncertain used market and the role of the media are just some of the challenges we are facing. But fear not, our expert panellists will help cut through the jargon, hype and hysteria to bring you the information you need.
Building on the success of last year, the 2024 Summit will see the return of the Zero Fleet Futures Stage, a testament to its importance and relevance in today’s evolving market. This initiative addresses the pressing need for businesses to enhance their sustainability practices and fulfil Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements through the adoption of electric fleets. Expert speakers will discuss the transition of our road haulage sector and heavy-duty vehicle fleets to net zero and enabling a robust alternatively-fuelled infrastructure network across Ireland. Hear what fleet managers need to know and do about electrifying their fleets, funding & financing, ensuring a sustainable supply chain and more.
Our Charging Infrastructure and Innovation Stage will look at the outlook and strategy for Ireland’s charging infrastructure and the need to ensure quality, speed and security of the charging experience. Prioritising innovation and digital technology and leveraging smart, connected and artificial intelligence (AI) enabled technologies to build robust infrastructure will be discussed.
As we commemorate a decade of driving change in the electric vehicle landscape, the EV Summit & Expo 2024 promises to be a pivotal event, sparking discussions, fostering collaborations, and showcasing the latest innovations that will shape the future of transportation in Ireland and beyond. So join us on 14 November at RDS, Dublin to hear the latest in EV innovation, technology, sustainability, and the future of mobility.
